The Story of Il Moresco: Timeless Charm Born in Ischia

It was the summer of 1952 when, on one of the Lido beaches, young Ischian architect Sandro Petti met the elderly gentleman Commendator Fuchs, who had fallen so deeply in love with Ischia that he wanted a seaside residence for a golden retreat.

The architect cleverly persuaded him that life on the island would be far more enjoyable if shared with selected guests. So, he didn’t need just a house, but a grand villa, almost a small hotel. In 1953 “Il Moresco” opened its doors: a tower rising among the pines, wrapped in the magical atmosphere of a park of plants and flowers, with its blue pool and sinuous natural grotto.
